Crown’s “Contractor Series” CH/CL amplifiers are designed just for you. Crown delivers three models (CH1, CH2 and CH4) designed for both low and high impedance outputs per channel, with each channel independently capable of 4/8 ohm or 70V operation. Three additional models (CL1, CL2 and CL4) offer low impedance compatibility for applications where high power, low impedance loads are the primary requirement. The CL Series models provide 2, 4 and 8 ohm options per channel. The powerful and flexible CH Series amplifiers also include 70 Hz High Pass Filters on each channel, giving your customers the necessary low-frequency roll-off to eliminate saturation of constant-voltage step down transformers typically used in 70V distributed systems. With an incredibly wide range of power and feature/benefits, the new CH/CL Contractor Series amplifiers give the professional sound contractor more options. Features CH SERIES DRIVES MULTIPLE IMPEDANCES • CH Series provides for both low impedance or high impedance outputs per channel. • Each channel offers 4/8 ohm and 70V operation. • Loads can be mismatched, allowing for independent operation per channel. CH SERIES INCLUDES HPF PER CHANNEL • All CH Series include a 70 Hz High Pass Filter per channel, providing necessary low frequency roll off to eliminate saturation of constant voltage step down transformers typically used in 70V distributed systems. SHALLOW CHASSIS DESIGN • The CH 1, CH 2, and CL 1, and CL 2 use shallow chassis’, allowing for installation in most wall-mount equipment racks. SECURITY • Rear panel level controls for secure operation. • Precision detented level controls allow for accurate level settings in many fixed installation applications. CONTRACTOR CORRECT CONNECTORS • Barrier strip output connectors allow for quick easy connection, regardless of the load. • Barrier strips accept up to 10 Awg. crimp-on terminal forks. 5-WAY FAULT INDICATOR • 1) blinks during power-mute; 2) excessive heatsink temperature; 3) transformer thermal protection; 4) short at amplifier output; 5) output stage non-operational. FLEXIBLE INPUT OPTIONS • Active crossover with signal routing available with optional System Solution Topology modules (SST-SBSC). CL SERIES AND 2 OHM OPERATION • When low impedance is the only requirement, the CL Series includes high power 2 ohm operation. THE BEST VALUE ON THE MARKET • Dollar per Watt comparisons in this class prove how the new CH/CL Series’ are hard to beat. The amplifier shall be a solid-state two-channel model. Each amplifier channel shall have the ability to operate individually, or paired with the other channel in a bridged configuration to provide increased output voltage Front panel controls shall include a rocker switch for selecting power on and off. Rear panel controls shall include a recessed detented rotary control for each channel to adjust input level, a recessed switch to select Stereo or Bridge modes of operation, and a reset switch for the AC mains circuit Internal controls shall include a jumper block to allow selection of input sensitivity of either 0.775V or 26 dB gain as a service option. Sensitivity Front panel indicators shall include a green LED to indicate that the ampli- fier is turned on and power is applied; a red LED for each channel which shall blink to indicate any of the following 5 conditions: 1) When the amplifier is first powered up, until the unit is ready for operation. 2) If the heatsinks reach a temperature above normal working limits. 3) If the transformer thermal protection circuit is activated. 4) If the amplifier wires develop a short circuit, and 5) should the amplifier output stage become non-operational; a red LED for each channel which shall turn on to indicate when distortion of any type becomes audible in the amplifier output; and a green LED for each channel which shall flash dimly to indicate when a low-level signal (> -40 dBm) is present at the input of the amplifier. Rear-panel connectors shall include a combination XLR and ¼-in (6.35 cm) phone connector in parallel with a three-terminal barrier block for each channel for balanced input connection (on the standard input module); a four-terminal touch-proof barrier block for output connection (on the standard output module); and an RJ11 jack for connection to an external circuit for the purpose of remotely monitoring fault conditions. The amplifier power requirements shall be 120 VAC, 9.5 A at 60 Hz. A detatchable IEC 15A to NEMA 5-15P AC line cord shall be provided for AC connection. Typical quiescent power draw shall be 60 watts. |
